Camp Hill Boot Camp 5:30am Fitness Test Results from Wednesday May 11

This morning the Camp Hill boot campers tackled the fitness test under conditions that surely had to rank as the coldest of the year so far. Everyone did really well and a special mention must go to those who met with this fitness test on their first session. As mentioned, this test will be repeated in 4 weeks time to track the progress of your fitness. Follow the 'read more' link below to see the results.
Have a great weekend and just a reminder that the walk and run club will be on as per normal this Saturday at 7.00am meeting at the Tarragindi studio. See you there!

The Corso Street Party at Seven Hills 2011

On Saturday 7 May Drive Fitness was involved in the first ever The Corso Street Party which is intended to become a popular annual fundraiser event. This year The Corso Street Party was raising money for a disadvantaged youth center in Logan.

Drive Fitness was offering health assessments for a gold coin donation and selling gift certificates for Mother's Day with a percentage of all gift certificate sales going towards charity.

David, Theo and Lisa were in attendance and had a great day building community with other local businesses and local residents from Seven Hills and surrounds.

Other activities on the day included food from the restaurants on The Corso, live bands, raffles, sales from other local businesses, a jumping castle, face painting and other activities for kids. It was a great family event for the day with plenty of options for husbands and children to pick up last minute Mother's Day gifts.

We look forward to being involved in this event in the future and seeing some of the locals from our Seven Hills and other studios there next year.

Power Bands Have Arrived at Tarragindi

As part of our promise to continually introduce the best training techniques to our clients we have introduced power bands at our Tarragindi studio. In a similar way to the kettlebell trial at the Tarragindi studio before rolling them out to Mt Gravatt and later to Seven Hills, we will be testing power band training and gathering feedback before introducing them at other locations.

Power bands are great for developing technique, range of motion and power for compound movements such as the squat, chin up and bench press. They can either assist the movement or make it more difficult by taking or adding resistance.

We hope everyone training at Tarragindi enjoys the addition and if we receive good feedback these bands will make there way to our other studios soon.

Here are the fitness test results from the Camp Hill 6:30-7:30am boot camp. Well done everyone! We will check back on these results in 6 weeks time to see how you are all improving.

See you Thursday.
